Winter Calm

Last fall, I wrote about trying to appreciate the seasons more. Winter is always the hardest for me, but it hasn’t bothered me as much this year as it usually does. Despite this, it’s still the time of year that I experience tons of headaches, fatigue, and an all around lack of motivation. Please tell me I’m not the only one! Must be those 5 p.m. sunsets.

Wait, this was supposed to be about appreciating the seasons! So here are a few of my favorite things from this winter:

Spending lots of time on dreary days in the sunniest room in the house. I spent afternoons here reading a few books on our little town’s history and began researching the history of our own home.

Autumn’s Warmth

As someone who loves the warmth of summer, learning to appreciate the beauty of autumn is a bit easier when the season feels more like spring! Early fall has been lovely. The air is warm, our flowers are still blooming, and even the mums I picked up from the farmer’s market look like they are welcoming spring. Despite my love for the warmer seasons, I am still really looking forward to seeing all these leaves change color!
