We spent the weekend finishing up the polish on our newly refinished 120-year-old floors in the dining room. They’ve been under carpet and linoleum for at least 30 or 40 years, so I’m excited to see them shine through again!
The dining room has been the most difficult for me to visualize, but our ideas are finally coming together. I’m hoping to create a room that’s more timeless than trendy but still has some color and whimsy. Here’s our wishlist for this room:

1. A Beautiful Farmhouse Table
A farmhouse table is a must for a vintage farmhouse dining room! We already have lovely old chairs that my husband grew up with and they’d pair perfectly with a farmhouse table.
2. A Stunning Chandelier
We’re trying to narrow down our options for a farmhouse dining room chandelier. I love the top middle option, but I think the bottom middle option is the most appropriate for an old farmhouse. Still mulling this one over.
3. A Calming Paint Color
We weren’t interested in doing white walls in this room, so we went through what felt like 30 dozen paint samples and we’ve narrowed in on a beautiful soft aqua that will look lovely with the chunky white trim and built-ins we’re adding.
4. A Dine-In Library
When I first saw the long empty wall in our dining room, I knew wall to wall bookcases would be perfect! We’re currently building a library into the room, and I can’t wait to fill it with tons of books! I wasn’t sure if we’d eat in our dining room 100% of the time, so why not make the room multi-purpose?
5. Fun Vintage Finds
I have a serious soft spot for quirky vintage finds, especially old signs. I’m always on the hunt for fun signs and artwork at my 3 favorite places to find vintage decor: Etsy, eBay, and Everything But The House.
6. Antique Pieces
Unpainted antique furniture is my absolute favorite because these pieces add such a sense of history to any room. Old buffets, wash stands, dry sinks, hutches, and even dressers provide storage and character for a dining room. We have an old buffet and dry sink that would be perfect for our dining room, but that doesn’t stop me from hunting for even more incredible scores!
What gorgeous rooms you’re sharing with us today, my sweet friend, their charm truly makes my day !
Wishing you a most lovely remainder of your weekend
I’m sending hugs and love to you

I think the top middle option! If not that one, then the bottom row, first one-far left. They fit the soft sleekness of your room.

Love the looks you have here. There is something about a long farmhouse table that is so inviting and informal. Thanks for posting!
