Anyone else have a garden hose that looks like this 99% of the time? Yeah, me too.

What You’ll Need

Keep your yard beautiful and organized with this super easy DIY hose stand project. It makes a huge difference and looks great in any landscaping! We constructed this almost exactly the same way we built our DIY Address Post.

  1. Paint your 4×4. We went with white for a classic look.
  2. Dig a hole for your post and set it in concrete. Using a standard 6 foot post, we set 1.5 feet into the concrete and left the remaining 4.5 feet above ground. You can make your post shorter depending on how much hose you need to hang. Allow time for the concrete to set up properly.
  3. Paint and attach your post cap. We painted ours black for a similar look to our DIY Address Post.
  4. Attach the hose hanger to the post.

And DONE! Now instead of a messy pile of hose in our flower bed, we have a cute DIY hose stand to keep the hose untangled and off the ground.

Keep your yard beautiful and organized with this super easy DIY hose stand project. It makes a huge difference and looks great in any landscaping! It’ll look even better once my flowers start filling in behind it!

    1. Thanks, Angie! Our garden hose was such a mess too, but now it’s pretty darn cute & I actually like looking at it :) Thank you for sharing it!

  1. This is perfect for keeping your hose neat and to make it look attractive. I’m one of those people who has to have a neat hose, (I was a horse girl and my instructor drilled that into me.) and a hanger like this definitely works. We have two on our property and I love them.

  2. I need one of these! How did you keep the post straight while the concrete was setting? I am pinning this. Thanks for sharing this at Craft Frenzy Friday on Mom Home Guide!

    1. We mixed the concrete so it was still pretty thick & then tamped it down so it would hold up the post while it was drying. Thank you so much for pinning!

  3. Aren’t those just the best ever Meg. We put one up a long time ago. It doesn’t look half a pretty as what yours does though, and it’s been a tidy life saver ever since. After seeing what you’ve done, I wonder if I can convince the hubby to help me makes ours look as good?

  4. Hang another hose hanger upside down at the bottom, and you can wrap the hose (like the cord on a vacuum cleaner). Great idea!

  5. I need this, it would keep my hose from ending up in a snarled pile on the ground. nice sharing. Great idea for corralling an unruly garden hose! It has lots of farmhouse charm. Love this, Looks straight out of a magazine. I need to make one for our yard, Featured you tonight at Dream. Create, Inspire, Link.
